Gods Unchained Tournament Qualifiers: Instructions, Scoring & Reasoning
How Games With Clyde selects the monthly field for the next Clyde Tournament: reserved seats, open qualification, eligible games, Astro Ascent scoring, field cuts and player audits.
Clyde Tournament qualifier leaderboard
What the monthly qualifier decides
The Clyde Tournament Qualifier determines who earns a seat in the next monthly Clyde Tournament. The tournament field normally contains 28 unique player GUIDs. November 2026 alone expands to 52; December returns to 28. Some seats are reserved for winners or finishers from published qualifying sources, and every remaining seat is filled from the open qualifier leaderboard. A GUID can occupy only one seat, so winning more than one reserved route never removes an extra open-board place.
The open qualification window starts at 00:00 UTC on day 1 of the current month and ends at 00:00 UTC on day 29, so games through the end of UTC day 28 are included. That board qualifies players for the following month’s Clyde Tournament. The live qualifier page publishes the current month, target month, exact timestamps and seat math and is authoritative if a future tournament cycle changes its reservation plan.
Reserved seats and open seats
Reserved qualification sources are shown individually on the live board. The current reservation framework publishes one Monthly Flavor Event seat, one Monthly Bad Chucky Beat Down seat and four seats for the current Clyde Tournament Final Four. Weekly MMR winners also reserve seats, with one result line per Friday. November additionally reserves one seat for the October Sealed Champion. With five October Fridays, the 52-player November field starts with 12 reservation lines and 40 projected open-board seats before duplicate winners free seats. If a future cycle changes a source or seat count, the live reservation panel controls rather than this example.
Confirmed reserved winners are removed from the open qualifier so the same player cannot take a reserved seat and an open seat. If one GUID wins multiple reserved sources, GWC counts that player once and marks the repeated award as no extra seat. Every duplicate therefore moves the eventual open-board cut farther down rather than shrinking the published monthly field.
Open qualification: which games use a run slot
Open qualification uses each player’s first 225 eligible captured games in chronological order, sorted by match finish time and then game ID. A player needs at least 25 eligible run slots and complete rank data to appear on the leaderboard. Direct (mode 6), Casual (mode 110) and League DC (mode 213) are excluded. Games against opponents at ranks 1–6 are also excluded. Those excluded games do not consume one of the 225 run slots.
A game against an eligible-rank opponent does consume its chronological run slot even when the player or opponent rank needed for scoring is missing or invalid. That unresolved slot holds the player’s qualifier score off the board until the rank is resolved; GWC does not silently skip it and substitute a later game. Once 225 eligible run slots have been used, later games have no qualifier-score impact.
How Astro Ascent win credit is calculated
Qualifier scoring uses the same rank-sensitive game-credit method as Singleton Ascent. Opponent ranks 7–8 have a base win value of 40 credit, ranks 9–10 have 70, and ranks 11–12 have 100. Beating rank 12 always earns exactly 100 credit. For another higher-ranked eligible opponent, the win earns base credit × 11 ÷ 12. Beating a peer or lower-ranked eligible opponent earns base credit × your stored player rank ÷ 12. Every eligible loss subtracts 30 credit.
The calculation uses the player and opponent ranks stored for that match, not their ranks today. Full precision is retained while game credit is accumulated into Net Credit. Rank-sensitive credit rewards stronger wins without making raw game volume unlimited, while the fixed loss penalty makes consistency matter throughout the finite monthly run.
Qualifier points, smoothing and ties
Qualifier points = max(0, 10 × Net Credit ÷ (eligible games + 50)). The 50-game smoothing constant tempers very small early samples, while the 225-game run limit bounds the total volume that can influence qualification. Players need 25 eligible games to appear. Displayed qualifier points are rounded to two decimals and equal displayed scores are ordered by the lowest GUID.
Because every eligible game increases the denominator, an additional game can help or hurt the displayed score depending on the credit earned. The board therefore rewards a strong finite run rather than simply rewarding whoever can play the most games. The player audit exposes each run slot, game credit, running Net Credit, score change and the reason an excluded or unresolved game did not score normally.
November 2026 expansion and permanent run limit
November 2026 has 52 total seats, including one reserved for the October Sealed Champion. This expansion allows more of the community to participate. December returns to 28 seats and does not retain the extra Sealed reservation. The qualification run limit permanently increases from 200 to 225 eligible games, including the current qualifier board; the 25-game minimum and 50-game smoothing constant are unchanged.
Current Cut, Planning Cut and the final field
CURRENT CUT shows the open-board position that would receive the last seat using only confirmed unique reserved qualifiers. PLANNING CUT also reserves unfinished published qualification sources as if their remaining seats resolve to unique players. Planning Cut is deliberately conservative: when the same player later wins two reserved sources, the duplicate consumes no extra seat and the open cut moves farther down.
Use the live field summary, reservation details and open-board cut lines together. The qualifier leaderboard answers who is currently leading the open route; the reservation panel explains seats already claimed or still projected; and the player audit explains exactly why a specific match counted, was excluded, awaited rank data or fell after the 225-game run.
